Business Listings
Proffer’s Business Listings are not your typical anonymous classifieds. Each listing represents a vetted, community-rooted business whose owner is ready to exit and whose legacy we want to preserve. Listings are only made visible to buyers who have completed our intake and readiness steps, ensuring alignment between sellers and values-driven, prepared buyers. Listings include relevant financials, seller insights, and buyer fit criteria. Many are supported by community lenders, subsidy funds, or come with structured transition plans to ensure a smooth handoff—not just a transaction.
Mentorship & Support
Proffer surrounds buyers and sellers with the right people at the right time. For buyers, that means access to a growing network of seasoned entrepreneurs, industry experts, and community business coaches who can offer guidance through due diligence, acquisition, and the first year of ownership. For sellers, we offer hands-on exit planning support, from preparing financials to coaching on how to hand off relationships, culture, and operational knowledge. We also facilitate transition coaching between outgoing and incoming owners to preserve continuity and set both parties up for success.
Online Courses
Our online learning hub is built for first-time buyers and retiring owners alike—especially those who’ve never had access to formal business education. Buyers can take self-paced courses on acquisition readiness, business operations, financing, and transition planning. Sellers can access tailored content on how to prepare a business for sale, what buyers look for, and how to exit on strong terms. Courses are mobile-friendly, designed for working adults, and grounded in real-world examples. Valuations
Many small business owners underestimate the value of what they’ve built or aren’t sure how to communicate that value to buyers. Proffer offers access to a guided business valuation process that includes financial review, operational context, and market comparisons. After signing a brokerage agreement, sellers can securely upload their financials to our platform. From there, we combine software tools with advisor insight to provide a realistic, fair, and clearly explained valuation that can be used to inform price, negotiations, and deal structure.
